What I Already Know About My Topic
Alzheimer's is a disease that you slowly lose your life to. This disease slowly make you lose your memory and social abilities. People that have Alzheimer's become disoriented and may become depressed. Alzheimer's is a disease that not only affects that person but also the surrounding family. It greatly affects that person, friends, and family mentally and emotionally. Many people think that Alzheimer's is what kills you, however, your brain function starts to decrease; thus making your organs start to fail, ending in death. Almost five percent of the people who are between the ages of sixty five and seventy four have Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's is found more often in women rather than men in the U.S. There is not a cure for the disease, but there are some medications that help slow down the process of the memory loss. While taking these medications may seem like they are have a positive affect, the side affects are not pleasant; such as vomiting, dizziness, disorientation and mood swings.
